The Third Coast Radio Residency provides diverse makers – whose voices are under-represented in public media – with a week of uninterrupted time for dedicated work, mentorship and sonic camaraderie. The experience is made possible in partnership with the Ragdale arts community which sits on 50 acres of prairie land due north of Chicago. Residents get the rare opportunity to escape radio's oppressive grind to make strides on creative, impactful projects that might not otherwise see the light of day.

"The residency was immensely valuable - connecting with fellow radio producers
on a deeper level, mentorship, peace and quiet - but the most valuable aspect by
far was the space to create work."
Mooj Zadie, 2016 Radio Resident and producer at Fresh Air

"I can't say enough about having so many people of color in the community.
The whole timbre of the conversations were different than the ones I've had in the past with other professionals in the field.
Erica Mu, 2016 Radio Resident and founder of Radius podcast

This is your chance to impact future Third Coast Radio Residents, and the exceptional work they'll bring into the world.

Please make a gift of any size to the Radio Residency Fund, which will matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000 by the generous Third Coast board. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by May 2.

Thank you!

Johanna Zorn
Third Coast Executive Director
